So Long September

Today, the last day of September, was the perfect mix of summer and fall. A beautiful, sunny day with a crisp chill to the air. The leaves are slowly changing from green to shades of red, yellow and orange and falling softly to the ground and I'm happy to be able to snuggle up in a warm sweater with a hot cup of tea. I made baked oatmeal for breakfast using this recipe but with a few changes. We didn't have any bananas so I used apple slices instead and I threw in some walnuts, dried cranberries and unsweetened coconut just because. It was delicious. I think it's my favourite breakfast food. Even though I love french toast and pancakes and a good greasy plate of eggs and hashbrowns now and then, I usually feel a wee bit guilty after eating that first thing in the morning. Baked oatmeal is wholesome, full of delicious, nutritious things and it's healthy (mostly, maybe not the sugar - I used brown though). I might have to make it every Sunday.

We took advantage of the sunshine and went for a walk around the park. I wanted to take pictures of some fallen, red leaves - and I did. I may have been learning how to make an animated GIF the other day and I may have something in mind that involves a leaf...
